The Archaeological Park of Paestum is home to some of the best-preserved Greek temples in the world. Paestum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for this reason; There are 3 temples, the Temple of Athena, Temple of Hera and Temple of Neptune. Depending on when you visit, you can actually go inside the temples.

Paestum was formerly known as Poseidonia when it was founded by the Greeks in the 7th century BC. It was an important city in the Magna Graecia territory, which consisted of a big part of Southern Italy. It was renamed Paestum when it was conquered by the Romans in the 4th century BC.

The ancient city and temples were rediscovered in the 18th century and since then Paestum has attracted thousands of visitors-

The ticket to visit the park costs €10 from December to February and €15 from March to November. It also includes the archaeological park of Velia, located further south and the Museum of Paestum. The ticket is valid for 3 days, so if you also want to visit Velia you got time. Instead, under 25s pay €2.

The visit takes about a couple of hours, aside from the temples you can also see the ruins of houses, arena, and forum.

I think it's an amazing experience to do, and I have visited countless times, and I'm still amazed every time. Highly recommended
