bericht van Francesco Meola

Piazza Cordusio is one of the main piazza of Milan, located a few steps away from Duomo.

In the past, here used to be the place where the home of Milan's Lombard dukes used to reside. The name 'Cordusio' in fact, comes from the Latin curia ducis (menaing duke’s court).

Today, it's a beautiful square that connects the Duomo to the Castello Sforzesco. It was designed like you see today in the late 19th century, and it features a monument dedicated to Giuseppe Parini.

Here are located some beautiful historic buildings like the former Post Office, Assicurazioni Generali and Credito Italiano.

You'll likely stumble upon this square anyway while visiting Milan. There are some popular shops here like Uniqlo and Arket, as well as the Starbucks Roastery.

Recently, in the former Generali building (the one with the dome), it opened a 5-star hotel with a beautiful rooftop with Duomo view.
