bericht van Jessica Wilkinson

Wookey Hole Caves, located in Somerset, England, are a series of limestone caverns known for their unique geological formations and historical significance. The caves have been used by humans for over 45,000 years, with evidence of Stone and Iron Age occupation. The site is also home to the Witch of Wookey, a stalagmite formation steeped in legend.

You can explore the show cave, which includes three large chambers connected by high-level passages and a river flowing through. With its constant temperature of 11°C, the caves are not only a tourist attraction but also used for maturing Cheddar cheese!
