TITLIS Engelberg is a large ski resort near Lucerne, popular both with locals and tourists. Some of the resort, including the glacier, is at a higher elevation than most other nearby resorts, meaning it’s more snow sure.

It has lots of steep red and black runs, so great for skiers that have a need for speed. The blue runs at the far west side of the resort are fun rolly polly hills that also have good powder potential slightly off-piste. Beginners are better off at Brunni Engelberg on the other side of the valley.

Our favorite place to eat is at Bärghuis Jochpass at the top of the Jochpass chair lift. Best to reserve if you want a table inside right at lunch time.

You can also use your ski pass to visit the Titlis glacier attractions like the suspension bridge and ice cave, which non-skiing tourists visit year round.
