Montreux has a lovely lakeside promenade with fantastic views of Lake Geneva. It's a popular sport spot for locals and tourists to stroll, relax on benches, enjoy a picnic, or stop at one of the many cafes and restaurants on the waterfront.
It's lined with flowers and many sculptures, including the famous Freddy Mercury statute.
On Fridays, Montreux hosts an arts & crafts / flea market with dozens of stalls along this promenade. It's a fun time to visit.
How to get there
From the Montreux train station, just walk directly to the lake and you'll find yourself on the promenade. Walk south to visit the main part of the promenade.
The closest parking is the Montreux train station parking or Parking Montreux Market at Grand' Rue 27, 1820 Montreux.
