Yasuní National Park is one of the most ecologically diverse spots on Earth. Located in the Amazon rainforest in Pastaza and Orellana Provinces of Ecuador, it contains over 10,000 square kilometers of dense wildlife and vegetation – from rare monkey species and giant otters to colorful hummingbirds and majestic falcons. It also hosts an abundance of amphibians, reptiles, fish, bats and insects, including a record-breaking 100,000 species of insect per hectare! Additionally, it is home to many endemic species such as 43 different vertebrates and 720 different plant species. With its "species richness" breaking world records for local-scale tree, amphibian, bat and mammal diversity – Yasuní National Park is truly a paradise of ecological riches.
