Falkland is a picturesque small royal burgh situated at the base of the East Lomond Hill. The idyllic town is full of magical sights and activities to explore, as it’s home to a stunning 12th century castle, now replaced by the impressive Falkland Palace.
It's also another popular Outlander filming location!
Some history:
The palace itself became a favourite seat of the Scottish court starting from the 16th century, and was granted Burgh rights in 1458, with its charter dating back 1160.
