Some customary things to keep in mind when travelling Bhutan:

  • Take off your footwear before entering to sacred places and temples.

  • Maintain in silence in heritage or religious places

  • Always walk in a clockwise direction when circumambulating a chorten, stupa or prayer wheels.

  • Use both hands when receiving or giving any object to be polite.

  • Dress conservatively (no jeans nor revealing clothing: I like to wear the traditional attire called Kira. I got mine in Thimphu.)

  • Do not point with your fingers, insted of that indicate with your right palm facing up
