Start your road trip with a detour to Elk Falls Provincial Park. Enjoy an hour or so walking the easy trail to the waterfall viewpoint and suspension bridge.

The drive from Campbell River to Port McNeill takes just over two hours. I would recommend making a couple of stops along the way.
Roberts Lake is a good place to have a picnic if the timing is right!
Please note that there is no cell phone coverage between Campbell River and Port McNeill. There are very few services as well - be sure to top up your gas before leaving Campbell River.
