Kinney Lake is the ideal destination for a half day hike in Mount Robson Provincial Park. This turquoise coloured lake is located just below the slopes of Mount Robson itself. It is accessed via the first section of the Berg Lake Trail, a famous multi-day backpacking route.

From the parking area at the end of Kinney Lake Road, the trail snakes through the forest and to the outlet of the lake. The shoreline lies just beyond, with wonderful mountain views. Mount Robson's rocky 'shoulder' (high rock wall) can be seen on the right hand side.

The return hike to the shoreline is 10km with 300m of elevation gain. Allow around 4 to 4.5 hours. It is possible to continue along the lake for another 3km or so if desired.

Pedal bikes can be used on the trail. No pass is needed for day visits (only for overnight trips).
