For a quieter alternative to Eva Lake, intermediate/experienced hikers may want to consider Jade Lakes (or even just Jade Pass) instead. Very few people venture past Miller Lake. Strong hikers could add the additional 2.4km detour to Eva Lake as well.
The climb from Miller Lake is steep at times but the switchbacks help. At the highest point, Jade Pass, there are glorious 360 degree mountain views to enjoy. A couple of rough paths lead from the main path to more viewpoints.
If you have the energy, continue onto to the end of the trail to get a closer look at one of the pretty green-coloured lakes.
I have rated this trail '5' (most difficult rating) due to the long length, rather than the condition of the trail. It's a straightforward hike on a good, mostly even trail but is just over 20km return from the parking area with 710m elevation gain.
A Parks Canada parks pass is required to drive the Meadows in the Sky Parkway and hike this trail ($22/day for a vehicle of up to 7 people).
