In summer, Whistler becomes an alpine sightseeing and hiking destination. But there's no need to slog up the slopes of the mountain - the Whistler Gondola travels almost all the way up Whistler Mountain. It arrives outside the Roundhouse Lodge (choice of restaurants), which is located at 1850m elevation.
Take in the extraordinary views and then ride the Peak Express chairlift (Friday to Sunday only) to the Top of the World Summit (2182m). More views await as well as a 130m long suspension bridge and 360° viewing summit platform.
Hiking trails provide access to various free viewpoints and the snow walls (see above photo). If hiking is your priority, I would recommend getting on the gondola as soon as it opens. Buy your tickets online to avoid most of the (long) line.
