The Murrin Park Loop Trail is a very scenic way to break up the drive between Vancouver and Squamish. The Quercus Viewpoint looks directly down Howe Sound, which is bordered on each side by snow capped mountains.
The shortest route is 2km total with 130m elevation gain. It may be short but some sections are steep. There is a longer loop that includes Jurassic Ridge. This has a little more elevation gain (30m) and some rope assists with open rock sections.
For an easier hiking experience, check out the loop around Browning Lake. It is 1km and is mostly flat.
Murrin has a large parking lot but it can still be very busy on weekends and in the middle of the day on weekdays.
