This 1943 red and white lighthouse was built to guide shipping vessels and fishing boats from Queen Charlotte Sound into Queen Charlotte Strait and Broughton Strait. It is a manned lighthouse, so you have the chance to meet the friendly lighthouse caretakers when visiting (Doug and Donna!)
The hike starts on Pulteney Point Road - look for the parking area near the gate that blocks vehicle access to the lighthouse. The trail leads downhill through the forest and then along the pebbly beach to the lighthouse. It's about 1.2km return.
