Penticton has one of the best craft brewery per capita ratios in Canada - there are currently eight breweries with seven taprooms. In a town of 40k people, that is pretty impressive!

Cannery Brewing is my favourite brewery taproom. Operating for decades, they offer an extensive selection of beers ranging from the fresh and light Lakeboat Lager to the rich and dark classic Naramata Nutbrown. There are usually around 13 different beers on tap at any one time.

The main taproom space is industrial-style, with a small patio. A range of appetiser and share plates are available (the nachos are the star dish, especially the veggie version).

There is a second, larger patio on the other side of the building called the Backyard, which is a casual, dog-friendly space with rotating food trucks and a slushie machine.
