Port Hardy is considered the "end of the road" on Vancouver Island—at least for paved roads! Highway 19 ends at the scenic waterfront of this service town.
Surrounded by pristine wilderness, Port Hardy is an ideal spot to escape and unwind. Several operators offer wildlife-watching tours, providing opportunities to see orcas, sea otters, and more.
Port Hardy is also a launching point for other North Island destinations such as Port Alice, Cape Scott Provincial Park and Raft Cove. There is a regularly scheduled ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert and Bella Coola.
