The Lake Louise Soft-Sided Trailer/Tent Campground is an expansive, conveniently located Parks Canada campground with 206 sites. The forested campground sits to the west of the Bow River, just a few minutes drive (or cycle) from Lake Louise Village.
A railway line runs along the eastern side of the Bow River, so try and choose a site on the western side if you can.
This is the only campground in Lake Louise that tent and soft-sided trailers can use, due to the level of bear activity in the area. There is an electrified fence all the way around the campground.
Campers are able to board a Park and Ride Connector bus at the campground to travel to the Park and Ride parking lot, where the Lake Louise and Moraine Lake shuttle buses depart from. Reservation holders can ride the Connector bus for free.
All sites in this campground are available for reservation via the Parks Canada website, with reservations launching in January each year.
A Parks Canada parks pass is required to explore Banff National Park ($22/day for a vehicle of up to 7 people).
