The Juan de Fuca Trail is a 47km coastal hiking route, ideal for a 4-5 day backpacking adventure, though shorter sections can also be tackled. This challenging trail takes you through rugged forest and beach terrain, with the thundering Pacific Ocean as a constant companion.
There are twelve designated campgrounds along the route, most situated right on the beach - $10/per person/per night camping, no reservations. Pay online in advance or at the trailhead in cash. All the details are in the linked guide.
Although the trail is usually open year round (subject to maintenance and closures after storms), the main hiking season is May to September. The busiest time is July and August, when the weather is warmest and driest.
