Tofino is a hot spot for whale watching. The three most frequently spotted large whales in the Tofino area are the Pacific Gray whale, Orca, and Humpback, with Pacific Gray whales being especially special to see.

In addition, there’s a chance to catch sight of other Clayoquot Sound locals, like porpoises, sea otters, Steller sea lions, harbour seals, bald eagles, and osprey.

Tofino’s whale-watching adventures aren’t just about spotting majestic whales up close — they’re also your ticket to exploring the breathtaking Clayoquot Sound ("clah-quat"), the traditional lands of the Nuu-chah-nulth people.
