I especially love Allmendhubel in Mürren because it is such a hidden, underrated gem! With its 1,907 metre altitude, this local mountain has one of the BEST paranomic views of the Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch.

Directions:

To get to Allmendhubel, walk a couple minutes through Mürren town, following the signs to Allmendhubel-Bahn. Then take the funicular up. You can buy the funicular ticket on the spot. The train comes every 20 minutes and only takes a few minutes to reach the top.

A return ticket costs 7CHF with the Swiss Travel Pass or Half-fare card.

There is a huge Flower park adventure playground which is sure to be a hit with children. Next to the playground is also a restaurant so parents can sit out at the terrace and chill over a cuppa!

And if you come during the flowering season from June to mid September, be sure to visit the Flower Trail where you will discover over 150 types of mountain flowers and herbs like gentians, cyclamen, alpine roses and the Swiss national flower, the edelweiss.

For summer itineraries: If you would like to do some hiking in your itinerary, you can easily follow the trail down and hike your way back down to Mürren, which takes about 2 hours. It’s a good choice for families that want to hike while admiring the big famous peaks of the Eiger, Jungfrau and Mönch.

For winter itineraries: Children and beginner skiers will have a fantastic adventure on the Kidsslope on Allmendhubel. With gentle slopes and fun bumps and obstcles, it is a good place to pick up skiing. If you are looking for group or private ski classes, the Mürren-Schilthorn Ski School s the best for this region. For ski equipment, you can rent them at any ski shops in town.
