The charming village of Saint-Saphorin in the Canton of Vaud lies nestled amongst the renowned Lavaux vineyards and is a must-visit for any traveler visiting Switzerland. This enchanting village boasts typical regional houses and delightful cobblestone lanes dotted with vintners' residences, and is designated UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its terraced vineyards and marvelous Lake Geneva views.
this is a very easy daytrip especially from Montreux as it is just a stop away.
I recommend you to walk around the village and explore the charming cobblestone streets and alleys. There is a lovely cafe very close to the Gare called Cafe du Raisin which is also nice to stop by for coffee or for lunch.
If you are keen on a hike, you can do a walk (a little steep) up to the little village of Chexbres. There is a new local produce stop situated right next to the train station, and it's super convenient to purchase local produces like wine, cheese with helpful recommendations from the staff.
Note: if visiting St Saphorin by train, you need to keep a close watch on time during the eveningbecause the train back to either Lausanne and Vevey comes infrequently and if you miss it, it might be another 30-45 minutes wait. So plan your time in advance!
