This is the MUST-SEE in Geneva! The Jet d'Eau is not your ordinary water fountain. It's a PHENOMENAL sight that shoots water into the sky at a remarkable speed of 200 kilometres per hour, and up to a height of meters (459 feet) To put it into perspective, that's taller than the Statue of Liberty!
Originally, the Jet d'Eau began as a safety valve for a hydraulic power network in the late 19th century. Over time, it evolved into a symbol of Geneva's innovation and engineering prowess. The fountain's water jets are propelled at an astonishing speed of around 200 kilometers per hour (124 miles per hours).
It already looks spectacular during the day but if you visit at night, the jet d'Eau is beautifully illuminated with colourful lights and it looks even more stunning!
