Guinness World Records says Haus Hiltl is the OG : It's the oldest continuously open vegetarian restaurant and has s been whipping up meatless delights since way back in 1898, all thanks to its founder, Ambrosius Hiltl.

You can find this place near the famous Bahnhofstrasse. They've got a regular restaurant where you can order from a menu with waiters, and they've got the Hiltl Buffet, a crowd-pleaser with over 10- homemade vegetarian delicacies where you can pick and choose, then pay according to the weight.

The Hiltl spot is now in the hands of the fourth generation of the Hiltl clan, and it's not just a restaurant. They also run an academy offering seminars and courses. Plus, it's home to Switzerland's very first vegetarian butcher's shop!
