Location: Mývatn Lake is in northeastern Iceland, roughly 90 kilometers (56 miles) east of Akureyri. The lake is part of the larger Mývatn area.

Accessibility: The lake is easily accessible by car via Route 1 (the Ring Road) and Route 848, which circles the lake. The nearest airport is Akureyri Airport, which has domestic flights from Reykjavik.

Best Time to Visit: The lake can be visited all year-round
