Accommodation: Naples offers many solutions where you can stay. You can choose between classic Bed and Breakfast, characteristic apartments in the heart of the centre or a hotel on the seafront with a view over the gulf.

My advice is to stay in the historic center of Naples; Spaccanapoli could be a great solution, full of offers, alternatively Via Toledo can also go well, both close to many attractions and near means of transport, as a metro, bus or funicular.

For those looking for more relaxation and wellness, the best solution could be to stay in the great hotels of the seafront of Naples, such as the Hotel Vesuvio, Hotel Santa Lucia, Hotel Royal Continental, Hotel Excelsior.

Other luxury hotels are on Corso Vittorio Emanuele with splendid views of the city and the gulf, such as Hotel Parker’s, Hotel San Francesco al Monte, De Bonart by Hilton.

I do not recommend staying near Piazza Garibaldi (central station), especially in the evening may not be a quiet area for tourists.

Public transport: Naples is a big city and it’s difficult to reach all the places on foot, but fortunately there are numerous means of transport to get around easily.

The metro is certainly the most used means, there are three subway lines, Line 1, Line 2 and Line 6. Line 1 (yellow line) connects from central station (stop Garibaldi) to Piscinola/ Scampia and crosses almost all the city. Interchanges for Line 2 are the stops of Garibaldi and Museo/Cavour. The Line two connects from Gianturco to Pozzuoli and there are stops like Montesanto (to take the funicular direction Vomero), Mergellina (seafront), Amedeo (to reach the Chiaia district), Campi Flegrei (to reach the Maradona stadium and the Fuorigrotta district).

The funicular stops are 4: Central Funicular (Piazza Fuga), Mergellina (arriving at Via Manzoni), Chiaia (arriving at Via Cimarosa, Vomero) and Montesanto (arriving at Via Morghen to reach Castel Sant'Elmo and the Certosa di San Martino).

There are several taxis to reach the city centre from the airport. In addition, the Alibus service is active and provides a link to the central station and the port. The service is active from 5:30 a.m. to midnight.
