Würzjoch Root View – An Iconic Photo Spot

Just a few meters from the parking lot at Würzjoch, you'll find one of the most famous photo spots in the area – the Würzjoch Root View. This unique composition, with the twisted tree roots in the foreground and the impressive Peitlerkofel towering in the background, creates a truly spectacular scene.

The spot is stunning at any time of day, but sunset makes it even more magical. As the sun sets, the mountain is beautifully illuminated, creating a warm glow that makes the landscape look even more dramatic. If you're looking for a perfect Dolomites shot, this is definitely a must-visit location!

HIKING

Beyond photography, Würzjoch is also a great starting point for hikes. You can do the Sasso Putia circular hike, which takes you around the Peitlerkofel, offering breathtaking views and diverse landscapes. If you're up for a bigger challenge and have enough energy, you can even hike to the summit of Peitlerkofel for an unforgettable panorama.

If you’re not in the mood for a long hike, simply take a short and easy walk to Fornella Alm. From there, you can follow the path at the junction to the left or right for about 1 km, enjoying incredible views along the way. This is a great alternative to experience the stunning landscape without committing to a full hike.
