Trains

Believe it or not, it is simple to transport your bike via the train system in Vietnam. Unlike Thailand, the process is straightforward and more flexible to navigate.

The reason you may want to take a train and pop your bike in the back is to avoid weekend traffic on busy highways, serious breakdowns that require you to get to a main city, and/ or you just can’t face riding in the monsoon rains anymore!

Simply go to the train station, go to the ticket office and say you want one ticket and one motorbike to ‘said station’.

You will receive the tickets, then drive the motorbike to the cargo entrance, drive over the tracks, along the platform, find the cargo carriage, present your ticket, they will pop it on the train, then find your seat, and relax. EASY.

Of course it's not a guarantee but for me the two times I did this, it was that simple.
