Makunduchi is Zanzibar's second- biggest village. In this the cycling tour you will see this beautiful village and meet the locals, passing through forested areas with baobab and huge mango trees. Mama Hassan earns her living making coconut rope; it looks easy, but it is quite challenging if you try it yourself. Another seemingly easy task is climbing up a coconut tree, would not dare to try that tho. Experiencing the simple everyday life in the village, away from the beach resorts, and meeting the kind local people living here is a truly special moment
Tip: When visiting the village, please respect the local culture by dressing appropriately – ensure your knees and shoulders are covered. Additionally, keep in mind that you’ll be bicycling, so wear something comfortable for cycling. I made the mistake of wearing a long skirt, and it became really challenging to cycle 😅. Opt for lightweight pants for a more comfortable experience!
