The Fairy Pools in the Isle of Skye is one of the most famous places in Scotland, and for good reason. When you visit The Fairy Pools, you will go on a short hike and notice that all of the waterfalls will follow you as you go. As you can see in my photo, it was not a clear day. On rainy, moody days, it can give the place a mystical feel. However, it can also be very slippy and even dangerous! So be aware. I recommend going during a more clear day instead.

Many of the best places to visit in Scotland are located in the Isle of Skye. From the amazing World Heritage nature sites to world-famous whisky distilleries, the Isle of Skye has it all. This is a very well-known fact, which also means this will be one of the busiest areas in Scotland to visit. Tourists will be everywhere, especially if you arrive between June and August. Take this into consideration when planning your trip to Skye. You will have a much better time trying to opt outside of peak season.
