Tombstone Territorial Park is an amazing place for any explorer - it offers plenty of activities for people of all ages and abilities! Located at kilometre 71.5 on the Dempster Highway, 1.5 hours from Dawson City, 7 hours from Whitehorse and 12 hours from Inuvik, NWT., Tombstone Territorial Park is home to a unique wilderness of rugged peaks, permafrost landforms and abundant wildlife. From hiking, car camping, backcountry camping, and even winter recreation -- there's something for everyone in the park! The Tombstone Interpretive Centre is open mid-May until mid-September and provides visitors with access to wheelchair-accessible toilets, a gift shop, and outdoor information boards. Visitors can also attend interpretive guided hikes or campfire programs at the Centre to learn about the cultural and natural history surrounding Tombstone Territorial Park.

Eryn's Tips:

• If you are able to, I would HIGHLY recommend a trip to Tombstone. It is my favourite place on the entire planet and I try to go at least once a year.

• There is no service so make sure you have a satellite phone or are letting people know where you'll be going!

• The Dempster is a highway so treat it like one! I have seen so many tourists park their car in the middle of the road to take photos because it seems like some back road that nobody uses. There are many semi trucks that go super fast on this highway and parking your car on corners or not pulling off is extremely dangerous!

• There is a gas station at the beginning of the Dempster and I would recommend filling up before heading to Tombstone! The next closest gas station on the highway is at Eagle Plains which is many hours up the road and very out of the way if you aren't planning to drive that far north.

• If you are going to hike in Tombstone, there are many different trail options or you can just park your car and start walking! If you decide to hike off a trail and are a group, spread out so you aren't creating damage to the landscape!
