Baste Lake is a small but very impressive body of water in the Dolomites. It is located at the foot of Mount Mondeval on the Mondeval de Sora plateau near Passo Giau.

Leave your car at Passo Giau, and set out along trail 436 of the Alta Via delle Dolomiti No. 1, the trailhead is located below the small church of San Giovanni Gualberto. Follow this trail for about an hour and you'll arrive at your destination.
