Craigmillar Castle, located in Edinburgh, Scotland, is a medieval castle that has seen its fair share of history. Built in the 14th century by the Preston family, it was later purchased by Sir John Gilmour in 1660. The castle is famous for its association with Mary, Queen of Scots, who stayed there during her recovery from an illness. It was also the site where a plot to dispose of her husband, Lord Darnley, was hatched. Although now in ruins, Craigmillar Castle remains a popular tourist attraction and is known for its well-preserved medieval architecture.
