The Palace of Holyroodhouse, also known as Holyrood Palace or Holyroodhouse, is the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland. It's located at the bottom of the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, right across from Edinburgh Castle. This place has been the main royal residence in Scotland since the 16th century and is used for state occasions and official entertaining. The palace is surrounded by Holyrood Park and adjoins Holyrood Abbey. You can even visit the historic apartments of Mary, Queen of Scots, and the State Apartments, which are open to the public most of the year. It's a pretty fancy place!
