Iceland just got a little bit hotter with the unveiling of the country's newest hot spring, Forest Lagoon. This geothermal spa is set to open in March 2022 and was created when a serendipitous new hot spring was discovered during construction of the Vaðlaheiðargöng tunnel between Akureyri and Húsavík in northern Iceland. The springs flow into the main pool, where you can relax in two swim-up bars and a smaller raised bath at the south end. There is also a cold pool, relaxation room and sauna with panoramic views, and a cozy restaurant with a central fireplace overlooking the surrounding forest. Taking a trip to Forest Lagoon is an experience like no other, allowing you to revel in the natural beauty of Iceland while taking part in hot spring bliss.
