Surprise, surprise, another 10 out of 10 beach in Jervis Bay! Cave Beach is an absolute gem with a little bit of everything: wildlife, waves, and, as the name suggests, a cave. It’s like this spot was designed to tick all the boxes for a perfect beach day.
First off, the wildlife here is adorable. I spotted so many cute little wallabies around the beach’s bar park and surrounding areas. There’s a campsite nearby, so these wallabies hang around hoping for a snack. They’re super used to humans and pretty bold, one even made its way into my van, practically begging for a treat! If you’re lucky, you might get to meet a few before you head down to the beach.
Speaking of the beach, it’s just as awesome as you’d expect. To the right, there’s a sizable cave that’s pretty hard to miss. It’s a fun feature to explore, feel free to channel your inner cave person and jump around a bit. It’s one of those cool quirks that add to the charm of the place. The water here is beautiful, which is par for the course in this area, and the waves are a bit bigger. If you’re into surfing, you might catch some great swells. And if you need to freshen up after your beach adventures, there are a few showers by the toilets. From what I remember, the showers are cold, but hey, there’s a door, so you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do when you’re on the road.
