City of Eternal Spring
Medellin is known as the City of Eternal Spring. This means it is spring weather all year around, which is so wonderful! You will love it! My biggest tip, NEVER trust the weather apps. They will say it rains everyday and that is just not true!
It absolutely can rain. But it can go days without raining too! We usually see the rain between 2-5pm and/or after 9pm. So plan your day trips and tours accordingly! We usually recommend the mornings because that is usually when it is the least rainy!
The Rainy season is typically between March to July and yes, during these times it can rain every day. But honestly, we love the rainy season because the city is even more lush during these times than it normally is. Just be prepared with an umbrella and/or rain coat!
Our favorite months of the year for weather are definitely between November and February, when the weather is PERFECT! It warms up in the morning, cools down at night, and typically is not too humid or rainy during these months.
Let's talk humidity. Yes, it definitely can be humid here. But in general, it is not a humid city like the coastal cities. At an altitude of 1,500 meters (4,900 feet) above sea level the climate is much more temperate and less humid in the mountains. There is some smog and during March, there are some controlled fires so the air can be a bit smokey at times, but in general, the weather in Medellin is absolutely incredible.
