Lake Matheson is a stunning lake located near Fox Glacier in New Zealand. It offers some of the most beautiful scenery around with its crystal clear reflection reflecting the snow-capped peaks and Aoraki Mount Cook. The lake's reflection is best seen at sunrise or sunset, with fewer crowds in the early morning. The 4.5km circuit walk around the lake, starting from the visitor centre, is an easy one that winds through majestic forest and boardwalks to some stunning viewpoints including Reflection Island. After taking in the views, head to the Lake Matheson Café to enjoy homemade breads and coffee while enjoying nature’s beauty as you take a break.
