Looking for a shortt, flat, lake-side walk where you're likely to be the only ones there...?
Llynau Cregennan is for you!
The walk takes you around two crystal clear lakes hidden up in the hills with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and on a clear day right out to sea.
The kids loved running along the stretches of boardwalk and bridges and the fact it was a nice short one meant there wasn't any complaining! In fact I think they were a bit shocked when we arrived back at the van so quickly!
You can extend the walk by walking up to the lakes from Arthog, which will include Arthog falls (we had planned on taking this route originally) or bag a summit with a walk up to the top of Pared y Cefn-hir. We will definitely be back to try both of these out soon!
Please note: The drive up to the lakes is on small country lanes with a few switch backs, (we drove the van up so it is doable, but) if you are not comfortable driving roads like this it might be worth walking from Arthog instead.
