My Girls call this one the castle in the clouds, and once you’ve experienced the climb and the views you’ll understand why. This short but steep walk will take you up to the Castell Dinas Bran’s ruins, which look over Llangollen and on a clear day out across the valley.

Due to this walk basically being an up-and-down the hill it’s better suited to older children or those used to hill walking.

It starts and ends in Llangollen, so you can extend it down the canal to Horseshoe Falls, or up to Panorama if you want to make it a longer day out. For an extra special experience, try this one at sunset or sunrise.
