Tokyo Skytree turned out to be way more accessible than we expected - no advance planning needed, which is rare for major Tokyo attractions. Even at prime sunset hours, we just walked up, bought tickets, and headed to the top. Talk about a pleasant surprise!
The timing worked out perfectly since they were running an anime theme that matched our daughter's favorite show. Having that personal connection made it extra special for her. The views are seriously stunning, and while it can get crowded (I mean, it IS one of Tokyo's biggest attractions), it's totally worth braving the crowds.
At 634 meters up, you get this incredible panorama of Tokyo sprawling out in every direction. None of those "maybe we should've skipped this" feelings you sometimes get with tourist spots - this one actually lives up to the hype.
