The 5-Seenweg, or "5-Lakes Trail" in English, is an exciting and scenic hiking path that runs through the mountains in Zermatt with constant views of the Matterhorn. The route brings visitors to five total lakes: Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grünsee, Moosjisee and Leisee. Along the way, adventurers can appreciate unexpected beauty in Moorland flowers, black-nosed sheep and picturesque benches to sit and admire their surroundings. HIKE DETAILS:
Take the cable car up to Blauherd (2500meters) where you will be following the hiking sign 5 Seenweg.
Then you will be hiking past Stellisee, Grindjisee, Grünsee, Moosjisee , Leisee and end the hike at Sunnega.
Hiking time is approx 2,5 hours. distance is 9.8 km with240 meters of elevation gain.
You can get the reflection of the Matterhorn at Stellisee, Grindjisee, and Leisee lake. You can swim at Leisee and Grünsee lakes.
