Kagura Snow Resorts in Niigata, Japan, is a great option for powder snow. Like Naeba, which I have also tagged, this area gets solid snow with the weather patterns that are brought from the west coast. With its high altitude and abundant powder snow, it boasts the longest ski season in the country. The resort offers a variety of trails for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders, as well as backcountry terrain for thrill-seekers.
If you're thinking about doing both Kagura and Naeba in the same day, I would be against it if you're looking to maximize your ride time. The Dragondola that connects the resort is a nice ride for views but it takes a whole lotta time riding it and then taking chair, after chair, after chair as you to reach the other side of the resort where the best runs are for Kagura.
Best to break it up into two days and ride Kagura one day and Naeba the other.
Tip: On good powder days head to Pair Lift No.5 and and take a skiers left into the trees.
