Message from João Freitas

The Farol da Ponta do Pargo is an exciting lighthouse located in the beautiful zone of Ponta do Pargo, Madeira, Portugal. It was constructed in 1922 on top of Ponta Vigia and it stands tall with a 312-meter focal height. This attraction is a must see and it brings joy to its visitors year-round. In 2018, 15,301 people visited this marvel of architecture and nature. The lighthouse features an unpainted concrete tower with 8 ribs that have a balcony and lantern. At night, you can see the red lantern roof and rail that illuminates the area with a second order Fresnel lens. It has a range of 26 nautical miles and a characteristic flash pattern of Fl(3) W 20s.
