I have never seen a church like this wooden orthodox church – there are supposedly a couple of 100 of those all over the country. They have been built during the Ottoman rule in secrecy and have been shaped in this way so that Ottman patrols couldn't enter the churches on their horses. I just love reading and learning about little historical curiosities like those.
