Symbol of freedom in NYC

The Statue of Liberty is a massive 305-foot statue located on Liberty Island in New York City. It's like the ultimate symbol of freedom, with a lady holding a torch and a tablet representing the Declaration of Independence. Built in France between 1875 and 1884, it was a gift from the French to the Americans. The statue has been through some changes over the years, like getting an electric torch in 1916 and a golden leaf makeover in the 1980s. Visitors can climb up to the observation deck for killer views of the city. Plus, nearby Ellis Island, where millions of immigrants were processed, adds to the whole "land of opportunity" vibe.
