The Lamphouse Hotel is a really good value option for exploring Canmore. If you want access to the town center, finding a better location across from the Policeman's Boardwalk is impossible. We love the hotel's character as it's a tastefully renovated motel. All the rooms here are modern, with stylish mountain decor and great amenities for a comfortable stay.

Each room has free Wi-Fi, a 55" flat-screen TV, a desk, coffee-making facilities, and a mini-fridge. Even the bathroom carries luxury bath products from Rocky Mountain Soap. As it's a motel, rooms are the standard double-bed layout, which may matter to some families. If you're lucky enough to score a booking, there's one well-appointed three-bedroom apartment perfect for a group, book in advance as it books up fast.

It's also worth noting that the local hotelier, Basecamps, runs the motel and often keeps front desk staff off-site at a sister location. If you need support, this can be an issue, but we love the nature of self check-in.
