On a sunny day in the summer of 2016 the town's residents got the idea to paint one of the main streets that needed some love and restoration. That same night, people in town as well as the town’s employees got together and painted the colours of the rainbow onto the street – unknowingly creating one of the most popular visual landmarks in East Iceland.

QUICK NOTES:

  • What it is: A picturesque rainbow street in Seydisfjordur, Eastfjords.

  • Best season: Any (but summer is the most lively there)

  • Best time of day: Any.

  • Nice to know: Don't get too political - it's just pretty colours :)
