Hov Gård is situated in a breathtaking location in Hov on Gimsøy, which is on the outer side of Lofoten, next to a white sandy beach, the ocean, and the midnight sun. The farm has approximately 48 Icelandic horses and 2 Shetland ponies that guests can ride on mountains, beaches, and roads that the Viking horses used over 1,000 years ago. The Icelandic horse is of Norwegian origin and has roots in the Viking Age.

Hov is one of the oldest places in Lofoten, with ancient monuments dating back a long time. The farm is believed to have been the chieftain's seat of Viking Tore Hjort, who is mentioned in the saga of the Vikings and was killed by King Olav Tryggvasson during the Christianization of Norway. Visitors can learn more about Tore Hjort and other Viking stories on the guided horse riding tours.

Apart from horse riding tours, the farm also offers beginner courses, riding lessons, and horse riding and stables. Nearby, guests can find Restaurant Låven på Hov, Hov Camping, and Lofoten Golf Links, which offer accommodations, campsites, and excellent food. The farm is owned and operated by Frode Hov and a team of around 10-15 employees. Frode grew up on the farm that has been in his family for several generations and has a history spanning several hundred years.
