Opoutere Coastal Camping on Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand offers visitors a serene and isolated getaway with five kilometers of untamed white sand, rolling surf and tranquil water in Wharekawa Harbour. The campground features acres of flat grassy campsites with basic, but sufficient amenities. Guests can enjoy the natural beauty of ancient Pohutukawas by taking a meandering trail to the summit, kayaking from the campsite creek, and fishing kai moana from the beach and estuary. They can also explore treks through the coastal bush to Maungaruawahine summit, filled with native birdsong. Visitors will appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and quiet facilities amongst an environment of pohutukawa trees, pine forests, and beautiful views of the beach and sea.
