Lupins by the lake in Glenorchy

During the Spring time (November-December) the famous Russell Lupins that are found in the Lake Tekapo and Mount Cook regions can also be found in Glenorchy. Although it is not guaranteed they will be there every year, there will usually be a few lupins growing in this area.

These photos were taken down by the lake just 50 metres or so south from the famous Glenorchy Wharf. It is a beautiful location to photograph with the Humboldt Mountain Range in the background and there is usually a yacht moored oh so perfectly in that area of the lake also!

Take your wide angle lens (16-35mm or similar) with you for this spot which would be beautiful at sunrise also.
